Everything you need to know to find the PA-23 Piper Apache Crash Site

The hike to find the remnants of the PA-23 Piper Apache begins on Lumberjack Trail in Spruce Knob Recreation Area in the Seneca Creek Backcountry.

Total, this hike is around 6 miles, 3 out and 3 back. The trail is an easy to follow, dirt trail leading into Seneca Backcountry.

After passing a swampy area roughly 3 miles in, there is a steep dirt path beaten down over the left side of the hill. This path is marked by a small Carin.

After following this path for a short distance, the crash site becomes visible.
